Woohoo!  Let's party on the water!  Casey Key is a highly sought-after resort island on the Gulf of Mexico Florida shoreline in the small town of Nokomis, Florida just north of Venice and about twenty minutes south of beautiful Sarasota, Florida.  Casey Key, or in historic days, Casey's Key, is an island stretch of land that is situated between these infinitely lapping waves and the Sarasota Intracoastal Waterway.

caseykeyboatrental.com LogoCasey Key Boat Rental is ready to deploy your rented craft as you wish.  We own our own boats and can arrange other watercraft as needed.  There are several public boat launch locations from Venice to Sarasota for you to conveniently park, walk/step on the boat and take off.

IMPORTANT NOTE;  Florida state regulations require that folks operating a boat who were born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 to successfully complete an approved boating safety course and obtain a Boating Safety Education Identification Card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).  There are many courses out there, but the same content qualifies for Florida.  We at Casey Key Rental use BoatUS as our insurance and safety service and they offer a free, did you hear that, free(?), boater safety course to rent boats in Florida.  Please see that you are qualified before contacting any boat rental agency in Florida.

Let us consider a few questions about boat rental in Florida.

What do I have to do to rent a deck boat in Florida?

To rent a boat in Florida, a boat 'license' is not required, per se. Though, if you were born on or after January 1, 1988, you will need to complete an approved boating safety course and pass the exam to obtain a Boating Safety Education Identification Card issued by FWC, such as noted above, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

How much does it cost to rent a boat in Florida?

From $65 to $100 or more per hour depending on many variables such as location, number of seating, quality and comfort of the watercraft, time availability and so forth.

What is the best type of boat to rent in Florida?

To determine 'best', you must consider your interests.  Are you an experienced boater or do you have desire to be a part-time or occasional boat operator?  Are you a certified captain?  Do you have absolute knowledge of the waters in the area you plan to rent and operate a boat?  Are you familiar with depth, bridges and infrastructure?  Do you love to travel to exotic places and share the experience on your social medial profiles?  From Pontoon / Tritoon configurations and compact Jetski units to deck boats and fishing boats, your options are most fitting to your needs if you shop around.

What is recommended for boat rental beginners?

This is a tough question because when on vacation, budget matters.  If you spend too much and get tool little in return, or spend too little and can't get enough, a beginner boat renter should consider what they are experienced with piloting and what their goals of water travel they are willing to take on and manage.

Casey Key Rental is willing to support the newbies, but, please be sure to get your boater safety certificate to rent and operate a boat in Florida.

Are beginner boaters safe and respectful of the watercraft they rent?

Short answer, yes.  It all depends on the client expectations.  Our boat(s) are not cheap, throw-away units, we take pride in them and it seems to reflect within the renters as we have not had bad experiences at all of the renters (clients) we serve.

Safety is a primary concern of ours, and though we take every precaution with the boats such as pre-flight checks, we carry insurance that is designed to solve major in-rental issues.

Insurance is a qualifying hurdle at this point in order to enjoy the waters and lower the risks of damage during a cruise.  Expect the unknown, in any business, and be confident that we have secured quality, qualifying insurance for your boat rental excursion.
